Through her art, Sangeeta delves into the diverse aspects of Lord Buddha's life and teachings. She maintains a deep fascination with the Bodhi Tree, where He achieved Nirvana. Sangeeta employs highly complex techniques and meticulous detailing to define her signature artistic style, resulting in a surprising visual simplicity reminiscent of Buddha himself. She extensively utilises gold leaf in her oil paintings and sculptures. The artist also crafts sculptures from various materials, including resin and discarded keyboards. Some of her recent works are made using eco-friendly material such as paper mâché of children’s notebooks and methi seeds (fenugreek seeds) as glue. She wraps her Buddha sculpture with various positive news articles from different newspapers. Sangeeta hopes that people will continue to draw inspiration from the positive articles, even decades later. Through this, she aims to convey the message that no circumstance is beyond redemption. Just as the good news surrounds the Buddha, the artist passionately believes that our lives can also be infused with peace and tranquility.
She has showcased her works in numerous group and solo shows in various cities in India, Indonesia and USA. Her first solo show was held in Bengaluru in 2008.
