Sangeeta Abhay is a contemporary Indian artist whose work enthrals with its intricate beauty and profound themes. Hailing from Buldada, Maharashtra, Sangeeta's artistic journey commenced at a tender age, nurtured by an inherent passion for creativity and self-expression. Pursuing formal education in fine arts at the Government College of Art, Aurangabad, she distinguished herself as the top student at the University, earning a fellowship.
Delving into various facets of Lord Buddha's life and teachings, Sangeeta holds a deep fascination for the Bodhi Tree, the site of his enlightenment. Employing intricate techniques and meticulous attention to detail, she crafts her distinctive artistic style, achieving a visual simplicity redolent of Buddha's essence. Gold leaf prominently adorns her oil paintings and sculptures, while she also utilises diverse materials such as resin and discarded keyboards in her creations. Recent pieces incorporate eco-friendly materials like paper mâché made from children's notebooks and methi seeds (fenugreek seeds) as glue.
Spirituality and the human condition serve as recurring themes in Sangeeta's work, characterised by a harmonious blend of traditional Indian aesthetics with modern sensibilities. Her artworks evoke a sense of mystique and tranquillity, inviting viewers into a realm where reality and imagination seamlessly intertwine, resonating on both emotional and intellectual levels.
Sangeeta has exhibited her artworks in numerous group and solo exhibitions across India, Indonesia, and the USA, with her debut solo exhibition held in Bengaluru in 2008. In 2019, she earned acclaim at the prestigious Florence Biennale XII. Notably, Sangeeta has received various awards and accolades, including being the sole Indian artist featured in the BBC documentary "Civilisation". Renowned film icon Padma Bhushan Gulzar Sahab composed couplets for five of her artworks, adding to her recognition and honours in the art world.

As pioneers in ArtTech, Eikowa is bringing a pioneering solution for authenticity and provenance.
We are leveraging blockchain to ensure that every art bought from Eikowa can never be forged such that it remains truly unique, just like when you bought it. We do this by having a clear link between a digital certificate that cannot be copied and linking this to your physical art.
While we are the first gallery in India to launch this, and our solution is unique internationally, we think as the world begins to realize real-utility use cases of blockchain, our solution will become the golden standard for provenance and authenticity.
